The Surprising Science Behind Happiness

Who said the science and psychology of happiness can’t be laced with humor? Harvard psychologist Dan Gilbert has made the quest for happiness a huge part of his career focus. In his book, Stumbling on Happiness, he explores the preconceived notions we all have about what will make us happy versus reality.

Dan blames our brains for tricking us with “quirks in our cognition” that “make humans very poor predictors of our own bliss. He’s quick-witted and uses both psychology and neuroscience to map out what we’re doing wrong and why.

Don’t worry. It’s not really your fault. Your brain is just misguided.
